A Memorial Ceremony with the descendants of the Founder and Founding Families of 1710, special guest the Swiss Consul General from Atlanta, and the public, will recognize, honor and remember Baron Christopher de Graffenried, the founder of New Bern, along with those German Palatines and Swiss citizens who came with him in 1710.

11-12 Bike MS: Historic New Bern Ride 2010
New Bern, Craven County
The Bike MS Historic New Bern Ride is a two-day cycling event that raises funds to support people living with multiple sclerosis in eastern North Carolina and throughout the United States. Money rose through this event funds MS research, programs, services and advocacy. In 2009, over 2,250 cyclists and 400 volunteers participated in the event and raised $1,736,537 to create a world free of MS. This year our goal is to raise $1.8 million. Each day cyclists can choose to ride 30, 75, 50 or 100 miles on fully-supported routes. At the conclusion of each day’s ride, cyclists are greeted by cheerful volunteers, a delicious hot meal, ice cold beverages and live entertainment. Registration is $35 before June 1, $45 before August 1 and $55 through the event.
